A place to rest your body, reset your mind, and recharge your spirit

Come as you are, in your entirety, wild spirits, to a space to be, breathe, and recharge.

There is a universal remedy for the tired spirits of the weary wanderers that can only be found outside — the elements.

“The fragrance with which one is feasted in the woods is, like music, derived from a thousand untraceable sources…the whole air vibrates with myriad voices blended that we cannot analyze. So also we breathe the fragrant violets, the rosiny pine and spicey fir, the rich, invigorating aroma of plushy bogs in which a thousand herbs are soaked…”

“We felt the Nova Scotia spirit – gorgeous windswept ocean view landscape overlooking Burntcoat Head Park.

Solitude, peace and serenity.”

Your space, your pace, your reset.

Our comfortable cabins have been built with nature in mind. Our Retreat does its best to balance creature comforts alongside our belief in the healing power of nature. We have mindfully outfitted each cabin with the basics for your everyday needs. So you may travel with ease—not needing to pack your pot, spatula, or pepper.

It takes a lot of energy to play the part of you. You need time to simply be.

We are so many things to so many people. It takes a lot of energy to show up in our many roles in life. To support others and hold space while also struggling. Each day we give a little more of ourselves away and rarely take the time to replenish. Your energy is not limitless; you care deeply and feel intensely.

You need time to reset.

“Have you ever travelled to a place and instantly felt comfortable? This is one of those away-from-home paradises.”

When we’re overwhelmed and burnt out, we say things like, “I need a vacation.”

What we really mean is we need rest.

Anyone that’s ever had to work through the details and booking of travel for themselves or others knows that the task of planning can be exhausting. The emotional and invisible labour is real and felt deeply. Running ourselves ragged to make the right choices between location, amenities, and budget, we add to our fatigue instead of getting relief.

How we spend our time away matters, too—if you’re the type who feels like “I need a vacation after my vacation”, Ravens Rest Retreat may be just what your spirit needs.

“If you’re looking for a place to get away from the noise, just be present in the moment, this is the place.”

All nature has to offer.

And a hot shower.

A small bathroom with wooden walls, a colorful bird painting, a white toilet, a double sink vanity with a mirror, a soap dispenser, a tissue box, and a shower with a curtain featuring large colorful feathers.

Set apart from the cabins is a shared indoor oasis in the form of a bathroom. The heated indoor washroom features a standing shower, toilet, and double sink vanity with quartz top. Stroll (or scurry) your way to a warm shower and clean face. Any time of the year.

Our Cabins

Each cabin features a kitchenette with dishes, utensils, and cooking supplies. Keep beverages and produce cold in your small bar fridge. (You may even find some farm-fresh eggs if our hens are generous.) Potable water is stocked for your arrival (more than you need for your stay). Beside every cabin is a covered barbeque with a side burner for cooking beyond the toaster. Lounge in your hammock, sit at your picnic table and light a fire beside your cabin. There is something about the fresh air that feels boundless.

Our space is meant for roaming. Wander the grounds, visit our companion animals, and explore the forest trails. With nowhere to go, enjoy the elements and just be. Smell the salt in the sea air, and feel the grass beneath your feet. Take it all in. A communal space with a large fire pit welcomes you for warm beverages and cozy conversation. Calling out to the starlit storytellers and midnight minstrels. (And marshmallow roasters).

Element of Spirit

Our first and largest cabin, Element of Spirit is a fantastic choice for those looking to spread out for a personal creative retreat, extended stay, or family.

This cabin features a main queen bed and a twin trundle bed. There is an apartment-sized fridge, kitchenette, and four-place dining set. Set the table for a romantic dinner, board games, or spread out your creative work.

  • All off on its own, Spirit is a fabulous space for creative retreats, romantic getaways, or family fun. Best if you’d like a larger space and additional privacy.

  • Spirit is set apart from the other cabins. Allowing for additional privacy and solitude.

  • Next to your cabin is a luxury portable bathroom with a sink for convenient late-night trips to the loo.

There is a communal bathroom cabin with double sink, porcelain toilet, and standing shower for when you need a warm shower to wash your worries away.

Element of Fire

One of two “cozy cabins,” as they are affectionately called. Element of Fire includes a queen-sized bed with a double loft bed above. A bar-sized fridge to keep drinks and produce cold.

A small kitchenette with a workspace for your food prep. A BBQ with a burner is located outside the cabin under a covered shelter. Everything you need to cook, serve, and savour your meals.

  • An excellent space for solo retreats, couples, friends, or those looking to book two cabins if travelling as a group.

  • Fire is one of two cozy cabins. While there is plenty of privacy, it is near the Water cabin. These cabins are ideal for booking friends, and family trips in a group since the trek to Spirit is much further.

“This little gem called Ravens Rest Retreat was a fantastic place to stay. We were able to watch the tides rise and fall right from our deck. Everything was perfectly thought out. All the little touches in the cabins made for a great stay. We wished we stayed longer.”

Simple. And splendid.

All the recharging powers of the earth, air, and water have to offer—followed by a warm fire and a cozy cabin.

“This place is just good for the soul. What a gem. I want it all to myself!!”
